William Glasser, MD :Presents Choice Theory in Mental Health,
Counseling and Education (DVD)

Part I - Disc One - Based on information from his 2003 book, Warning, Psychiatry Can Be Hazardous to Your Mental Health. Dr. Glasser discusses external control psychology and the seven deadly habits. Also includes a lecture on choice theory and the basic needs. -– 1 hr. & 30 min.

Part II – Disc One - Dr. Glasser discusses choice theory in more detail; basic needs, total behavior, the Quality World and creativity. Session concludes with ½ hour of questions. -– 1 hr. & 30 min.

Part III - Disc Two - Based on his 2001 book, Counseling with Choice Theory, The New Reality Therapy. Dr. Glasser explains and demonstrates with a role-play of a college student whose presenting problem is a phobia. -– ½ hr. role-play followed by a discussion of about 15 min.

Part IV  - Disc Two - Two role-plays First role-play is about an 11 yr. old student who dislikes school, (followed by a discussion); second role-play is with a 42 year old schizophrenic woman, played by Carleen Glasser. -– 60 min.

Family Therapy (DVD)

Role Play/Married Couple - 1988 (DVD)

This tape shows Dr. Glasser with a married couple who has come for counseling.  The session is marked by a few very humorous, but realistic interventions by Dr. Glasser. 58 minutes.

Four Role Plays  1975 (DVD)

Role Play #1:  “Ann” - The first client on this DVD is an alcoholic, sexually promiscuous woman in the initial stages of sobriety that is lacking in self-confidence.

Role Play #2:  “John”  In this role-play, the client is a 28-year-old man who has some behavior characteristic of “borderline psychotics”.

Role Play #3:  “Ferrol”  The next vignette occurs within the setting of a mental hospital where Dr. Glasser plays a ward psychiatrist working with a “psychotic” 34-year-old man.

Role Play #4:  “Edna”  In this last role-play, the segment shows a female client who presents the most classic symptoms of someone whose body has created physiologic behaviors that have consumed her life. 109 minutes.
